Think chili sauce, not chili con carne. I love this recipe because it is inexpensive, easy, and the ingredients are usually all on hand.
1/2 c chopped onions (I use dried that I reconstitute)
2 tbl. olive oil
3 garlic cloves (I use dried minced garlic)
2 tbl. Worcestershire
1 tsp. chili powder
1/2 c water
3/4 c ketchup
salt and pepper to taste (I leave it out and let people season their own if they want)
6 pork chops (I use the packs of thin cut boneless pork chops which is actually 8 chops)
1. Cook onions in oil until brown
2. Add garlic, worc. sauce, chili powder, water, ketchup, salt & pepper
3. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes
4. Arrange pork chops in crock pot
5. Pour sauce over chops ( I layer sauce and chops into the pot, but I don't know if it makes a difference.)
6. Cover & cook on low 6-7 hours (the thin chops cook faster 4-5 hours, but I have left it for 6 or 7 hours before and it just makes the meat fall apart more instead of staying together and looking prettier.)
The recipe didn't suggest anything, but I always serve it over rice and we love it that way. Steam some veggies and you've got yourself a meal.
Makes about 4 servings.
I also wanted to make request for any more slow cooker recipes or pork recipes that people like. I have a few more I might add.
